The Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center is located at 4897 N. Farm Road 61 in Ash Grove, Missouri. Situated within Bois D’Arc Conservation Area in Missouri’s Greene County, the Dalton range and education center offers various shooting and hunting activities for the expert or the amateur. It encompasses a 100-yard, baffled, pistol/rifle range that is dotted with 20 covered booths. Two of these shooting booths are accessible to handicapped visitors. The range also offers two overlaid trap/skeet fields for use with shotguns, as well as a shotgun-patterning range that provides full-size turkey targets. The range reserves four skeet/trap fields exclusively for public use.
The most popular times to visit the Dalton range are prior to deer and dove hunting seasons, so that hunters can sharpen their shooting skills. Many visitors go to the range for the diversion of amateur target practice, while law enforcement agencies and other groups occasionally reserve the range and education center to host organized activities. Visitors who want to learn more about the hunting culture of the Missouri Ozark community are encouraged to stop by the range. Use of a booth in the rifle/pistol range or the trap/skeet fields costs $3 per hour.
