[title size=”2″]Fishing Stockton Lake[/title]
Stockton Lake is one of Missouri’s seven major lakes. It is a 39 square mile man made lake created by the Stockton Dam over the Sac River. One of the flow outs of the Lake of the Ozarks, the lake is under the jurisdiction of the Army Corp of Engineers. Stockton Lake has a no development policy, which allows the coastline to remain a pristine and unspoiled habitat for trees and wildlife. There are three marinas along the lake and bass and fishing boats can be rented at Stockton State Park along with pontoons, jet skis and sailboats. The Stockton State Park Marina (19100 215 Highway in Dadeville, Missouri) has picnicking and restroom facilities and sells bait to park visitors. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset (check operating hours). Another way to fish Stockton Lake is hiring a fishing guide, of which many are available locally.
Stockton Lake is not only ranked as one of the top ten sailing lakes in the country, but it is also known as one of the best walleye fishing lakes in the Midwest. Anglers can find a large and healthy fish population that includes bass, white bass, crappie, walleye, and catfish. Detailed fishing reports are provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation. If you want to turn your fishing trip into a weekend or week-long trip, the Stockton State Park provides camping and cabin facilities for rental.
