[title size=”2″]Waterfall Trail[/title]

One of the newest trails in Branson, Missouri, Waterfall Trail is in the heart of the city yet somehow it still makes visitors feel like they are in the middle of the countryside. The trailhead can be accessed near the intersection of Roark Valley Road and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. The best place to park is on Roark Rd. Look for the trailhead just behind the guard station to Westgate Resort. While the trail is relatively short at only eight-tenths of a mile, it is moderately difficult due to the 150-foot climb in elevation by the time you reach the waterfalls at the top. The trail begins in an open meadow, then descends into a thick wooded area, and from there follows a flowing stream. The trail crosses the stream three times, and the crossings can be difficult after rains when the water level of the stream has risen. There are some rocky and muddy sections of the trail so take caution with your footing. The waterfall at the end of the trail is in an open space, with a small pool at its base. Visitors who make the hike will be rewarded by a gushing waterfall in the spring months.
